FOTA Votes to Ban F-Ducts Next Season

Yes, they probably should violate the FIA prohibition on movable aerodynamic devices, but the new “F-Duct” — which “stalls” the rear wing at speed to improve straight line performance by eliminating drag when downforce is not required — was declared legal and F1 teams have been scrambling to catch up to McLaren.

Now they won’t have to, as the Formula One Team Association (FOTA) rejected a plea by McLaren not to outlaw the blown wing concept.
