Monaco Circuit Updated

The FIA has revealed that it has made changes to two chicanes at the Monte Carlo street circuit — the Circuit de Monaco — ahead of this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, sixth round of the F1 season.

New higher elements have been added behind the existing curbs at the Nouvelle Chicane on the exit of the tunnel and La Piascine (the Swimming Pool Chicane), both reportedly in an effort to reduce the possibility of drivers cutting the corners.

As well as installing new debris fencing at various sections of the circuit, such as Rascasse, there has also been extensive resurfacing work carried out, including the run from St Devote up to the junction of the Avenue de Monte Carlo and the pit lane.

“The new Kurbs as mentioned on Autosport are on the course after the tunnel chicane and exit of swimming pool, you do not want to touch them!” — Mark Sutton of suttonimages.
