Formula 1 refugee Rubens Barrichello — still mourning the loss of his Williams seat after some 19 seasons in the sport — is rumored to be testing an IndyCar with KV Racing at Sebring as he searches for a drive in 2012. Apparently the suggestion came from friend and fellow Brazilian Tony Kanaan. Barrichello has a two-day session scheduled on Monday and Tuesday to see if he really does have an interest in driving the new IndyCar, a Dallara DW12-Chevrolet.
I think at first I won’t look for anything,” Barichello said. “Perhaps I’ll just enjoy my family for a year.” “For sure I will not race on the American ovals. I have promised that to my wife,” he continued, “and I will honor that.”
