Vettel Captures Japanese GP As Alonso Is Shunted Out

Alonso—Suzuka 2012

The F1 World Championship title is wide open again, largely between the top-ranked two drivers, after Sebastian Vettel took a lights-to-flag win from pole position in the 2012 Grand Prix of Japan at Suzuka, closing the gap on Fernando Alonso to just four points. The Ferrari driver was knocked out of the race during an incident-packed start, in which several cars were eliminated at the 1st corner.
