Nor did it require much intuition to understand that Ferrari’s chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, in deciding the issue over the Monza weekend, had signed off on a pairing that could give the Prancing Horse one of its most promising – and volatile — seasons in more than 60 years of Formula One racing.
