In 1991, British Grand Prix winner Nigel Mansell famously gave Ayrton Senna a lift back to the pits when Senna’s McLaren ran out of fuel. Today, Mark Webber is penalized for accepting a lift from Fernando Alonso in Singapore, the same thing.

One is iconic, the other absurd. As I’ve said before, it’s gotten to the point in F1 where the stewards have to be stopped! It’s especially ironic and sad that Singapore steward Derek Warwick himself once rode on the engine cover of Gerhard Berger’s turbocharged Ferrari. (And don’t forget this.)
