Vettel Scores Dominating Canadian GP Win

Ferrari hasn’t won in Montréal since 2004, while Lewis Hamilton has made Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve his own with 6 wins during his F1 career. But Sebastian Vettel ripped up the form book with a dominant lights-to-flag victory in the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday to snatch the lead in the 2018 Formula One drivers standings.

In a bizarre end, the checkered flag was waved a lap too early by model Winnie Harlow, only for Vettel to say over team radio: “Tell them not to wave the flag when it’s not done.” He continued on his way to take it again after the correct 70 laps in the end.

40 years after the late Gilles Villeneuve won his home race for Ferrari, his son and former F1 World Champion Jacques drove his car around the Montréal circuit before the race.
