Eau Rouge 1956

This is an action photo of the infamous Eau Rouge corner at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps from the Belgian Grand Prix of 1956. The race was won by Peter Collins in a Ferrari over Sterling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio, the first of Collins’ three GP victories before he was killed during the 1958 German Grand Prix.

Eau Rouge is amazingly one of the few corners in Formula One racing to have survived  without change — no chicanes, enlarged runoffs or modifications except Armco barriers — to today.
