Hamilton’s 3rd Italian GP Victory In Doubt

Lewis Hamilton cruised to his seventh win of the 2015 Formula One season, and third at legendary Monza, with a dominant win ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in the Italian Grand Prix. But his victory is in doubt due to an investigation into tire pressure on his Mercedes. The Briton led from start to finish, yet but was mysteriously instructed to speed up late on without explanation. The problem saw Hamilton implored to push hard in the closing stages despite holding a comfortable lead — a situation the driver said was “not cool” over team radio.

Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg did not have the pace all weekend. Was his engine failure two laps from the finish the first nail in the coffin for his World Championship challenge? The gap to Lewis is 53 points. Not insurmountable, but an absolutely gargantuan task.
