Seven-Time World Champion

The return of Michael Schumacher to Formula One for the 2010 season was supposed to be a coronation. Turns out, the Brawns of last year, now the Mercedes factory team, are slow and unreliable. So while Schumi says he’s not out of the title race yet, in view of the frustrating season to date, many observers — including this one — think it will be a year or two before Mercedes is back among the top-tier teams.

The New York Times calls it “The Schumacher Question.” Richard Williams of The Guardian says the comeback “is already running on empty.” What do you think?
